As a part of our commitment to our members , we run weekly socials which allow members to engage with each other outside of debating . Run through our amazing socials team; events such as pub quizzes, comedy debates, and game nights allow members to get the most fun out of our society. As well as this, more formal traditions such as the Winter and Spring ball, and our more famous annual Rail Ale Trail and Pimms Socials have all been a part of our array of events since the founding of the debating society. 

 

This academic year, we are hoping to host a higher number of socials, including a mixture of sober and drinking socials. Upcoming events may include scavenger hunts, coffee shop crawls, a trip to the Exeter arcade and our well loved power point nights. Not to forget Wookey Hole, our internal competition of comedy debates, a unique event which stands out among the internal competitions hosted in the South West! Debating serious topics such as 'bees in the bay' and the benefits of being a barbie girl in a barbie world - the social scene at the University of Exeter Debating Society is not one to miss!
